Are You Thriving or Just Surviving?
This year I decided to make the REST of my days the BEST of my days. I saw this quote one day and it quickly became on of my favorites! “One day you will wake up and there won’t be any more time to do the things you’ve always wanted. Do it now.” – Paulo Coelho. For some reason this quote resonated with me so strongly.
A lot of times I people posting on Facebook, “thank God I’m alive!” or “Be thankful for what you have, so many people have it far worse ”. And while I totally agree, it made me think about whether we are thriving or just surviving? What does being “alive” really mean? It is simply waking up and breathing for another day? Or is it doing and seeing the things you’ve always wanted to see and always wanted to do? So I pose this question to you? Are you thriving or merely surviving?
We all go to work and pay the bills, but that just keeps us afloat. There’s so much more LIFE out there to see, do and experience! Trying a new restaurant off the beaten path, learning to ride a horse, visiting a museum, driving to the Georgia mountains for the day just to look and see and watch the leaves turn. My bucket list of FULL of things large and small that I am committed to trying this year and beyond. I call it taking the time to smell the roses.
So yes, on this Easter Sunday, take time to thank God for the breaths he allows you to take each day. But, remember – Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the number of moments that take your breath away!
Now go make some memories!!
Smooches!
