So Much to be Thankful For
I’ve been doing extra workouts all week and watching calories to prepare myself for Thanksgiving dinner. 😉 Got up this morning and did a MEGA workout with TurboFire 60 and Abs 10. Then I wanted to do a good lower body workout so I tacked on Jiggle Free Buns by The Firm. I forgot how great that workout is! I used to be a big time “Firmie” until I discovered Beachbody. Some of the Firm workouts are bad on my knees, but I love any of the Transfirmer workouts. The Transfirmer is excellent for sculpting the glutes and thighs. Plus I started working with step aerobics years ago and it has a special place in my heart. 🙂 All in all, I burned a total of 850 calories! Bring on Thanksgiving dinner!! 😉
It was exactly one year ago today that I recommitted to exercise and clean eating. I made a personal goal to workout consistently every single week in 2010. I was at my heaviest at 170 pounds and was tired of working out hard for a few months and then falling off the wagon. I knew I could do better and that I felt so much stronger and positive when I exercised regularly and ate healthy foods.
Since then so much has happened and my life has changed so much for the positive. I surpassed my fitness goals and am now in the best shape of my life. I gave away all my size 12’s and am rebuilding a new wardrobe of size 4’s! I became a Beachbody Coach and, through helping others change their lives through fitness, I’ve changed my own. I became certified to teach TurboKick (my absolute favorite cardio!), and have 2 successful weekly Fit Clubs that promote health & fitness through free weekly workouts with Beachbody fitness programs. I reached Diamond rank in my Beachbody business and am on my way to reaching Star Diamond status thanks to my AWESOME team of Beachbody Coaches! And to top it off, my weight loss success story was selected for the new Chalean Extreme infomercial!
This Thanksgiving, I have plenty to be thankful for. A success Coaching business, being “40 fit & fabulous”!, good health, family and friends that love and support me and the confidence and satisfaction of knowing can set goals and do what it takes to reach them. 2010 has been a very good year for me. I’m looking forward to making 2011 even better!
Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi, Cruz. Thank you for your post. I strongly suggest using home exercise DVDs. I’ve used them for years because it was always hard for me to make it to the gym on a regular basis – and I got great results. Here’s my top reasons for using (and recommending) exercise DVDs: 1. They’re convenient. You can workout when it’s most convenient for you; 2. They’re effective. The routines are pre-designed so you don’t waste time trying to figure out what exercises to do, how many reps, etc.; 3. They teach you proper form, which maximizes results and reduces the risk of injury. 4. They come with a nutrition plan so you lose weight more quickly and learn how to eat and prepare healthy meals so healthy eating becomes a part of your lifestyle.
I also recommend Shakeology. Don’t let the price scare you. It’s $119 for a 30 day supply, but it’s worth it! It’s one of the supplements I use to help me lose weight and keep it off. It avgs out to $4 a serving ($3 for Coaches) – which is much cheaper than eating lunch out every day and it’s much more healthier. And it will give you more energy. I always recommend ordering on home direct to get free shipping.
The important thing to do is to pick a fitness program and just get started. Doing that first workout is the hardest step, but I promise you, if you stick to it and modify your eating, you will see results and start to feel better mentally and physically. Check out my top fitness program pics for my recommendations for beginners. And let me know if you have more questions and I’ll try to answer them for you. You can DO this!!
I need desperately to get in shape. I’m approaching 40 and OUT OF SHAPE! So much so that everyday tasks are hard to do and sometimes breathtaking. I want to go to the gym, I feel better after I do, but gosh it is so hard to just GO. Any advise?
