These Outre Springy Afro Twist crochet braids take me back to my ROOTS! All my life I’ve yearned for thick, full, healthy hair that looks just like this.

While the length and density (thickness) of our natural hair stems largely from genetics, the health of our hair is fully dependent upon the care and love we show it.

But, while we’re working on getting our hair to optimal health, this crochet style can serve up big, healthy hair goals in the meantime.

I’ve been wearing crochet braids as a protective style for almost 3 years and this is the BEST crochet hair I’ve tried yet! It’s super soft with NO matting and NO frizz!

I’m going into my 7th week wearing this hair and I still love it! It’s been through intense workouts, video filming, and lots of manipulation through styling and still no matting or frizz! BEST friggin crochet hair ever!

How to Maintain Crochet Braids

I remember as a little girl sitting on the living room floor watching Bugs Bunny while my big sister braided my hair.  I was always excited to get my hair braided because she’d add extensions so I could wear my short 4C hair in ponytails!  I’ve been wearing protective styles off and on for years, from tree braids, to half wigs to my current favorite protective style, crochet braids. 

What is Protective Styling?

Protective styling is a way of protecting your natural hair from the rigors of daily styling by tucking it away in a braided style and installing hair extensions like weaves, crochet braids and even wearing wigs.  I’ve been wearing crochet braids for over two years and my natural hair is the longest and healthiest it’s ever been.
